March 19th, 2010 12:20 pm Unbalanced [ ] [ mood | sick ] Pros: - I get to see my boy in about 6 hours. :-) Cons: - I'm currently in bed, having taken the day off work (which I NEVER do) because of a stomach bug. - I have a three hour drive ahead of me this afternoon (and that's if I don't hit traffic). - I'm not supposed to be eating for 24 hours. - Dinner reservation for tonight has had to be cancelled for that very reason. - We have a very rich meal planned for tomorrow which we're supposed to be cooking for his family in honour of his parents' 34th wedding anniversary. A meal which I may well not even be able to eat because I'm supposed to wean myself back onto food gently with things like dry toast and plain biscuits! (- Totally unrelated, but I have a voucher for a free Thornton's chocolate that expires today and I'm not going to be able to cash it in.) The things you do for love eh?! Good thing the pro pretty much outweighs the cons! (By the way, how revolting is this mood icon?!) 2

Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it." 1- Last night I made ice cream for the first time ever. 2- I've recently developed a new appreciation for lizards. 3- I can't wait until next weekend. 4- The ringtone on my phone is Paolo Nutini - Pencil Full of Lead. 5- I REALLY couldn't be bothered going back to work tomorrow! 6- I'm thinking about retaking my driving test to get my manual licence. 7- I have stayed in the most bombed hotel in Europe. I tag _thisisme, clubcat, fadedglow, funbol and regularcelery. Not so much because I expect or even particularly want you to have to bother with it, just because it said to tag people. :-P

February 4th, 2010 8:45 pm Tired of waiting! [ ] [ mood | excited ] 6 working days to go! And, if I'm being REALLY pedantic (and perhaps also slightly pathetic)... 22 teaching hours! Less than a full day of work until I'm on holidays, if you look at it that way. :-P

December 17th, 2009 2:24 pm Of fate and frostbite [ ] [ mood | freezing ] I'm at work at the moment and FREEZING. For some reason they seem to think that the Antipodean member of staff can survive in sub-zero indoor conditions! Surely it's not too much to ask to have a working radiator...? Staff Christmas do tonight. I'm not particularly looking forward to it as I'm not that excited about the food (it's a pretty standard Chinese menu, although it is at a nice restaurant), I don't like a lot of the people going and I am SO tired!!! Sleep has been sacrificed this week in a big way. Speaking of sacrifices, I've really come to realise recently that sometimes you have to make them in order to get what you want. Fortunately, I have exactly what I want and it turns out that what I've had to sacrifice wasn't that worthwhile anyway. The Christmas countdown on my whiteboard tells me that there are eight days to go. Knowing me, I won't update again between now and then (although you never know) so if I don't... Merry Christmas to all!
